Efficient way to see SO much - This was a great day, punctual pick up before eight. Drove straight to Mt Field NP 30 minute walk through virgin rainforest to the coffee shop for hot chocolate. Saw... read more pademelons and 70m swamp eucalypts. Then to Bonorong wildlife park to see wombats, devils echidnas and emus. Lots of beautiful birds. Then to Richmond for a tour and lunch. I looked at the Gaol $10 entrance fee. The bridge is elegant and doesn’t look 100 years old. Then up to Mt Wellington. A completely different climate at 1270m wind and sleet.
Our guide Scott was a delight, giving information and unintrusive commentary.
Highly recommended.
The driver/guide Jarrod really made it a great day despite the persistent rain. He was so knowledgeable & kept it interesting. The scenery was beautiful, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary was a... read more highlight as I’ve always wanted to see a wombat up close. Richmond is a lovely old town. Mt Wellington was freezing, raining and we couldn’t see a thing as we were in the clouds, but that made it all the more fun! Would highly recommend this tour.
Best day trip of our holiday. - The excursion was the best part of our holiday. We travelled over 200 kms in a day and visited some diverse and interesting destinations.
Jarrod was polite and friendly and... read more provided an interesting and intelligent commentary throughout the day.
My favourite part was the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and feeding the kangaroos.
The group size was small and his vehicle was excellent.
Great Introduction to Tasmania - This was a good tour, probably particularly for people who don't know the area that well. The highlight was the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and getting to see Tassie Devils and... read more Wombats up close. The Mount Field National Park was stunning and surprising. It was a long day, but great for folks like us with a short window of time in Tasmania and no knowledge of the area. If you have your own car and know the area a bit, you could probably do this yourself at your own pace.
Terrific day! - What an amazing day we had with iWander! The whole day was terrific with the highlight being the walk in Mt Fields. The tall trees, waterfalls, and wildlife were all... read more incredible. We even saw a Platypus swimming in the river (don’t count on this, it’s rare)! Jarrod was super knowledgeable and his stories and descriptions were a great way to learn about the history and nature of Tasmania. Highly recommend this tour!
Amazing way to Explore Tasmania's Beauty - I highly recommend this excursion for travelers looking to experience Tasmania's stunning nature and scenery. Russell Falls in Mount Field National Park is among the best waterfalls I've seen! Mount... read more Wellington, although cold, also has breathtaking views! Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is an incredible experience as you can feed the Kangaroos and see native animals in Australia.
I suggest packing comfortable walking shoes that you will be okay with getting a little dirty. Also, wear layers as Mt. Wellington drops several degrees. Richmond is a cute town, and you should try its iconic bakery.
Jarrod was an excellent tour guide and was punctual for the hotel pick-up. He also holds much knowledge about Tasmania and the sites.
Absolutely Beautiful 🤩 - Jarrod was punctual, informative and genuinely nice. The bus was spacious and comfortable, and Jarrod allowed us to have meals on the bus. The waterfalls and tall trees at Mt.... read more Field were absolutely beautiful! The trip to Bonorong sanctuary was a great awareness to the Tasmanian wildlife and Richmond was a relaxing old town with scenic views (must try their famous scallop curry pie and lavender ice cream 😃).
We weren’t able to drive up to Mt. Wellington summit as the weather forecast wasn’t our friend, but we did get a glimpse of it from one of the stops at the bottom of the mountain. Jarrod drove us to two nice look outs though; one at Sandy Bay and the other from across the bridge as complimentary stops which I thought was a nice gesture. Both stops had pretty views of Hobart. Overall, a great tour that I would recommend to anyone visiting Hobart.
Amazing experience, totally recommended. - Great experience. We saw most of Tasmania with a great and knowledgeable guide. Came to our hotel, and even had time to eat a great meal and pick up good... read more souvenirs.
Totally recommend
Absolutely fantastic way to spend a day tour from Hobart - From pick up to drop off - everything was fabulous. Our guide Simon and driver Brett were both super friendly, informative and entertaining - we could listen to them... read more all day. Lots of interesting pieces of information about Tasmanian history, fauna, flora, culture, agriculture and local hints and tips. Everything we saw was a joy to behold. But the highlight for me was the absolutely fantastic view of Hobart and beyond from Mt Wellington. Thanks again for a wonderful day. Highly recommend if you are visiting Hobart.
Super Host Brett on day out to Mt.Field, Bonorong Sanctuary, Richmond and Mt.Wellington - Had an amazing trip, Brett the driver/guide was fun, laid back and yet communicated such a passion for fauna, sharing all kinds of interesting details of animals and their habits... read more and knew alot about flora in the rainforest. Not only that, however, he had information on the history of Tazmania, agriculture, local community interests and much more. He encouraged us to experience other places/things while in Hobart/Tazmania. I tried scallop pie in Richmond after he said it was a specialty, delicious, and we walked the rivulet Hobart Linear Park looking for platapus as well - did not see any but plan to go back again and try. Had a wonderful time, would highly recommend this tour!
